Baby Beckett

On Saturday, while in North West Arkansas for my niece's birthday, I had the chance to meet up with an old friend from high school and photograph her beautiful baby boy, Beckett. Along the way we got some beautiful family shots with mom and dad too...but Beckett was the most adorable little boy I have seen in a long time (beautiful blue eyes, gorgeous blond curls and a love for the camera that make me giggle) and so the honest truth is that I spent the better part of two hours just playing dress up with Beckett because I couldn't get enough of his adorable face.

We started out our afternoon at Wilson Park, in Fayetteville. When it got a little too chilly for Mr. Good Boy to be outside we decided to move the party to his house. We set up the mini-studio and just had a blast playing dress up (although the truth is that he doesn't like hats very much) until he just couldn't take it any more. I would have never imagined that an 11-month-old would be such a ham. But this little boy LOVED the camera (and obviously the camera loves him right back) and he couldn't get enough. A future model in the making. The pictures speak for themselves!

But I can't let Beckett take all the credit. He has some pretty awesome parents and they make one cute family. So, before I finish up I will leave you with a some nice family moments with Beckett's biggest fans.

The Wallace Family

On Valentine's Day I was lucky enough to spend the evening doing what I LOVE...photographing some wonderful people! The whole Wallace crew came over to my house (which, from time to time, has to function as a photography studio) and we had a blast. The boys, William, Jonah and Robbie are so much fun. I will be the first to admit, my portfolio is a little girl-heavy. I haven't photographed a lot of boys...and this group of kids made me so sad that I haven't spent more time with rough-housing, giggly boys! It was too fun.

I was really excited to meet this family and after spending some time with them I couldn't have been more right about what great people they are. Sometimes you just know that a family is full of joy and love... and this family is just that. They explode with happiness. And it can't help but rub off on you and make you happy too. So it was perfect that we all shared the love, on Valentine's Day.

We spent some time photographing the whole family...and found time to get a few shots of mom and dad together as well. But let's be honest. We spent most of our time photographing the boys and letting them be themselves (complete with picking their own chairs from my growing collection). All in all it was an amazing time and I am thrilled at the outcome because these boys are beautiful! There is no other word for it.

So, thank you, Wallace family, for letting me spend some time photographing your best features!

Holland Family

Today I was honored to get to photograph a family all the way from Michigan! How on earth does a small-time photographer from Central Arkansas get a client from Michigan, you ask? Well, you photograph one talkative hairdresser who hails from Flint, and its all down hill from there, my friends. So today I photographed some funny kids...the Holland clan: Savannah, Dylan and Conner.

These three kiddos are great! Super funny (although they don't know it yet) and pretty dang smart. The boys LOVE math and Savannah is smart enough not to have a boyfriend yet. They are getting off to a great start... and something tells me its because they have a wonderful mom leading the way.

I had such a fun morning getting to photograph this group. They got to be themselves, and because they are from way up North they didn't mind the chilly weather as we converted my garage into a photo studio. I consider myself a lucky gal to get to spend time with so many awesome new people and such adorable children. So, a HUGE thank you to the Holland family for starting off my 2011 season with such a blast!

Clifton & Calhoun Wedding

I had the extreme honor of photographing the wedding of Katie and Jared on Dec. 18th. It was my first official wedding (because I don't think photographing my dad's wedding should count) and I was really nervous. It's a lot of pressure to be in charge of capturing the beautiful moment of marriage for a couple. But Katie and Jared put their faith in me and I refused to let them down!

It was a really amazing ceremony and the group of people there celebrating with the happy couple was awesome! I have a ton of things I could say about the breath-taking music, the hip & modern setting...the amazing love and devotion of the couple... but they have been waiting a while to see their photos and so I am going to let the joy speak for itself.

Congratulations Katie and Jared on your amazing future! Thank you for letting me be a part of it all.

Huffman Family

Momma Huffman is a hoot! I met her at my first Anue Salon photo shoot and I keep finding excuses to photograph her. Who knew when she walked in to the salon with a huge blond afro that I would be at her home a few months later photographing all of her beautiful children for Christmas in just a few months! But, I am certainly pleased as Christmas punch to have had the chance to visit the Huffman's at their home for a dandy photo shoot on a crisp...if not down right cold, Sunday afternoon. Not too shabby if you ask me.

This family is so much fun. How on earth they make time for anything with four kids (ages ranging from 17 months to 7 years old) is beyond me! Some how they do it though. And they do it well. This group is like watching a J. Crew magazine run around in real life. It's awesome. And overwhelming. But, the girls are as sweet as little girls come, and P warmed up to me, eventually (only after I let him take some pictures himself).

It was a blast! What can I say? Thanks, B-Huff, for inviting me into your beautiful home to photograph your gorgeous family and spend some time with a lovely family full of joy and giggles! Merry Christmas!

Hadfield Family

Tis the season...to take family portraits! And today, on a chilly Sunday morning I had the great joy of meeting and photographing the Hadfield family. They were so much fun! It's a lot of fun to photograph. Period. It's really fun when you get to photograph such good looking people (yeah, I said it)...and it is icing on the cake when you photograph new people that you honestly think you could be friends with. That's totally how I felt about this family. I could be buddies with them, instantly! So it make working feel like hanging out. Cheers!

So, in my new "environmentalist" mood I travled to their house to take photos of the Hadfields on their home turf. Plus, it was way too cold to be out in the elements for longer than a few minutes. We had a blast. We played around...broke some equiptment, sneezed on some cats, shared some Diet Cokes...and also, when time allowed, took some amazing photos of this beautiful family doing what they do best: being awesome.

I am blessed beyond measure to do something I love so much, and its days like today that make me think I am the luckiest girl around. I get to take pictures of awesome people for a living. It doesn't get much better.
Thank you so much, Hadfields, for letting me spend some of the holiday season with you! Happy Holidays!
