Katie & Blake

Today I got to do one of my favorite things when it comes to photography. I got to photograph some of my dearest friends. Blake and Katie have been hanging around our little group for quite a while. And so when they got engaged during the holiday season of 2010 (he actually popped the question on Katie's birthday, which of course, was the ultimate birthday present!) and I was over-joyed at the possibility of getting to do their engagement shots. We had to wait on the weather..but it was really worth it.

We went to a few places I have been dying to photograph: the covered bridge at Burns Park and then we hopped over to the downtown Argenta area of North Little Rock. And everything went perfectly.

I can't tell you how perfect these two are for each other. They are a hoot to hang out with and Blake makes the meanest grilled hotdog I have ever had. It was a true honor to get to capture this really exciting time in their lives and I can't wait for round two...when we do our Hog themed shoot. Wooo Pig Sooie.

And if you haven't noticed...because they are my friends I just couldn't pick a few...I went all out!

And only because I was playing around with my panoramic settings...

Little Katie Rose

I started my Spring Break by meeting up with the cutest little girl on the planet! We went out to Wye Mountain for the daffodil festival. If you have never been, you simply must go. It is pretty impressive how many flowers are out there. And it must be a photographer's dream, because we were not the only people who decided to spend Saturday morning looking at the flowers. But I promise Katie was the cutest kid there.

This little princess was a real trooper. It was chilly and there was a lot for her to take in all at once, and she let me photograph her for a good while (imagine...I took over 500 photos before she got bored) and she was such a good sport. She was so sweet and willing to mimic everything I did. So, we walked around the thousands of flowers and picked a few too. It was a great start to any day.

I picked my favorites, but this little camera-ham was so easy to photograph that there were plenty to choose from with Miss Katie. I am really looking forward to my chance to photograph their whole family this summer...because if they are anything like little Katie it's gonna be a super fun time!

Ezra's First Birthday!

I've heard of dueling banjos before...but never dueling birthdays! Well, when I showed up to photograph Ezra's first birthday I got a two-fer. Older brother Cooper was also getting to celebrate his birthday as well.

What can I say? Momma C is one of my dearest friends, and by far my best client (not to mention hair and makeup diva extrodinaire). And I have been lucky enough to photograph Ezra and their whole family several times over the past year. So, it was an absolute joy for me to help celebrate and eat cake!

I've included some of my favorite shots of the birthday boy and those closest to him. Enjoy.

Baby Violet

One of my nearest and dearest clients (Chelsea) bought a gift certificate for her good friend who was expecting a baby a few months ago. Little did I know then that the baby would turn out to be one of the most adorable little girls I have ever laid eyes on. Baby Violet, at just about 8 weeks old, is the kookiest little handful ever! She is a little wiggle-worm if I have ever seen one. But it was so much fun playing dress-up with this beautiful little doll. And her stylish momma had so many fun things for us to try! We had tutus and headbands galore, and an awesome hand-knitted outfit that was actually made for Violet's momma when she was born but she never got to wear it...so we but Violet in vintage couture! It totally counts!

We were having so much fun playing dress-up with sweet Violet that before we knew it our time was up. But we had a blast and it was also a chance for me to catch up with my Minnesota friend (I had the pleasure of photographing her three children in January). I really love how lucky I am to get to share such special moments with people. And with any luck Violet's parents will treasure these pictures for a long long time.
